Sidbar is just plain annoying. hogs too much space on my laptop screen. I would like to be able to get back to the view shown in the attached JPG without having the sidebar icons visible. Version 4.4.2 is starting to suffer from the interface bloat that made me ditch MS office!

have you tried Menu/View/Sidebar?
