Starting LibreOffice 5.0.0.1 when Portable LibreOffice (tested with v4.4.3.2) is running causes a consist crash with error SEH EXCEPTION: VIOLATION ERROR When LibreOffice 5.0.0.1 is running and LibreOffice Portable is opened after, the latter will simply pop a message saying there is another version running and will not start.
do you refer to PortableApps LibO, right? I've not used it recently but I can tell there's no conflict between X-LibreOffice 4.4.3.2 (which is another portable version of LibO from here: http://www.winpenpack.com/main/download.php?view.1354 ) and LibO 5.1.0.0 alpha.
Hi Tommy (In reply to tommy27 from comment #1) > do you refer to PortableApps LibO, right? Yes, but the problem occurs with both. > I've not used it recently but I can tell there's no conflict between > X-LibreOffice 4.4.3.2 (which is another portable version of LibO from here: > http://www.winpenpack.com/main/download.php?view.1354 ) and LibO 5.1.0.0 > alpha. Actually there is also a conflict with X-LibreOffice which is the one I use regularly (I only reported the PortableApps because the people at TDF have some problem with WinPenPack). I get the same crash when using X-LibreOffice and LibreOffice 5.0.0.1 32bit under Windows XP Pro x86
thanks for feedback. however I confirm no conflict between X-LibO 4.4.3 and LibO 5.1.0 alpha under Win8 x64 maybe your issue is WinXP or x86 specific... I have no machines with such O/S so I cannot retest have you tried a 5.1.x daily build to see if the conflict is limited to 5.0.x codeline or affects master as well?
another test I made reveals no conflict between X-LibO 4.4.3 and LibO 5.0.0 RC1 under Win7 x64
(In reply to tommy27 from comment #4) > another test I made reveals no conflict between X-LibO 4.4.3 and LibO 5.0.0 > RC1 under Win7 x64 I had no problems either on my Win7 x64 laptop running v5.0.0.1 x64 and X-LO 4.4.3 x86 Are you using LO 5.0.0.1 x64 under Win7 x64? I believe that there is no conflict if one version is x64 and the other x86 (as there is no X-LibO x64 yet) I will test today with both x86 versions under Win7 x64
In all my tests the 5.0.x and 5.1.x version I used were x86
(In reply to tommy27 from comment #6) > In all my tests the 5.0.x and 5.1.x version I used were x86 Ok, thanks! I will keep testing and posting progress. Maybe it's one of those DOESNTWORKFORME problems :)
No crash with v5.0.0.1 x86 and v4.4.3.2 x86 Portable under Windows 7 x64. This seems to be an x86 (or XP) problem only (or a DOESNTWORKFORME)
Still happens with 5.0.0.2 under Windows XP Pro x86 SP3 I tried a profile reset and it still crashes with the same error message. Searching for SEH Exception showed this (among other solutions) http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/422/SEH-and-C-Exceptions-catch-all-in-one

What is the status with 5.1.1?
(In reply to Beluga from comment #12) > What is the status with 5.1.1? Just tested with 5.1.1.3 x86. The problem remains. Hi, I have not tested with X-LibreOffice 5.0.4.2 Portable. I've not found where I can download this version. In scenario 3 and scenario 4, with X-LibreOffice 4.4.7.2 Portable, I've no problem under Win7/x86. The two instances of LibreOffice run simultaneously. Bernard

The two instances of LibreOffice run simultaneously. Ok. So it is not an x86 problem, it's a Win XP problem only. Thank you for checking and reporting!
Under Win XP/SP3 : - scenario 3 : OK for me - scenario 4 : OK for me Remark : under XP, I can't close LO 5.1.1.3 with File > Exit LibreOffice. Exit OKwhen clicking on (X). Bernard
Scenario 1 : OK for me. Scenario 2 : OK for me Bernard
