Created attachment 117175 [details] LibreOffice Draw file I created a simple drawing in LibreOffice Draw 4.1.4.2 using text boxes and objects from Draw's gallery, then added text to some of the gallery objects. I then exported the drawing as SVG. The text in the standalone text boxes was in the .svg file, but the text on the objects was not. Viewing the .svg file with a text editor confirms that the text is not in the file. I tested exporting the same .odg document to PNG and PDF and both included all text. The text does not exceed the boundaries of the objects and the text has not been rotated. IMHO this is a major problem in that only vector art produces good quality at varied sizes without creating huge files. Attaching the .odg document and the exported .svg file.

Might be a duplicate of bug 32248
#32248 pertains to using Draw to open a SVG file and not seeing text that is in the SVG file that is visible in other programs. The OP of #32248 created the file with Inkscape. #92678 pertains to exporting a diagram from Draw as a SVG file, and the resulting SVG file not containing the text at all. The text is not visible in other viewers either, because it isn't even there. I suppose it could be related, but on the surface I'm not seeing it. BTW I should have mentioned that the problem still exists on 4.4.4.3 on another machine (Win 7 Pro SP1 32 bit).
Yep, bug 32248 might be the wrong duplicate. I knew i'd seen this bug before, so. Looks like a dup from bug 81561 (and bug 90284).
Hi, I reproduce with LO 5.0.0.2 Build ID: a26d58f11b99b6aeddf7f7884effea188cc6e512 & Windows 7 Home Premium As workaround: This can be done by using Convert to Metafile each image with text. (puzzle pieces for example) The resulting svg will can be opened in Draw by using Insert > Image, but give an image without text if you open it directly. Inkscape, Firefox, IE can open correctly this svg file.
bug 90284 does sound very similar. Don't know how I missed that one. I just downloaded the ODG file from bug 90284, opened in Draw 4.1.4.2, and exported it as SVG, and the SVG has all the text except "Send regdomain info to kernel via netlink" (the same text as the OP of bug 90284 said was missing). I did see bug 81561, but didn't pursue it because of the extra layer of complexity added by the embedded spreadsheet. But I can confirm this one on 4.1.4.2 as well.
Tried the workaround in comment 5. Convert to Metafile does preserve the text. Thanks! The text for any converted objects is now visible in the SVG when opened with Inkscape. It's also visible in Draw when Insert Image is used. But in my case, if I open the SVG directly with Draw I just get a black page.
