Created attachment 117600 [details] Icons in toolbar jump, screenshot 1 I just did a clean install of LO 5.0.0.5 (rc5) (64-bit) on Windows 7 and I frequently get strange drawing issues in the toolbars and sidebar. The icons "jump" out of line. These redrawing issues happened frequently, but there was no single way to reproduce it. It seems to be some combination of using sidebar, toolbar icons, dialogs and pulldown menus, so that the problem shows up. However, I am sure that if someone plays with LO 5.0 rc5 64-bit on Windows 7 just for 10 minutes will get the same problems. See attached screenshots. Hi Gerry, I do not see that problem myself, but know that considerable work has been done last weeks on such glitches, so there must be other reports and so... Maybe it's already better in a daily build or in 5.0.1. RC1 ? Cheers - Cor
Created attachment 117974 [details] LO 5.0.1 rc1 same problem, example 1 Hi Cor, thanks for looking into this bug. I did the same tests with 5.0.1 rc1 (clean install, new user profile) and I see the same problems. See the two new screenshots attached. I have the feeling that it took slightly longer to trigger the bug in 5.0.1rc1, but then the problems appear. For example, in Writer, typing and formatting some random text using the top toolbar and the sidebar and sometimes using dialogs from the top menu finally resulted again in this bug. It takes approx. 30 sec. to 1 minute to see these drawing problems. Then, after a while, everything seems to have resettled again, but the drawing problems come again after a while. Maybe an important additional info for you: Immediately before the drawing problems occur, the LibreOffice UI flickers once briefly, so I always know that the problems start now. We got a duplicate -> NEW.
I tested the issue again on another computer with Windows 7 and the bug appeared also there (so it is not related my system). Version: 5.0.1.2 (x64) Build ID: 81898c9f5c0d43f3473ba111d7b351050be20261 Locale: en-US (en_US)
this is still happening in v 5.1.0.3 64bit, both in calc and writer, see screenshot attachments labeled bug rendering in calc/writer 5.1.0.3 The problem is not limited to 'jumping icons', the body of text and cell structure are also victims. the Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View are: Graphics Output: all are unchecked, but also tried with - Use OpenGL and with - Use anti-aliasing and had the same issues. Time to go back to v 4 until this gets fixed because it's just too difficult to work with something that jumps all over and has no idea where the cursor is in relation to cells or text or icons. I'd think that this would be considered a serious error/bug. Note: once an ods or odt has been open for awhile, about 10 minutes but this varies more or less, the document finally becomes stable and no longer jumps around so it seems to me that some needed components are not loaded yet when the documents are opened but do get loaded if I wait long enough. But this is hardly what should happen, open a document 10 minutes before you want to work with it, even if just reading it let alone update it. In a separate bug I was told that OpenGL needs work re: rendering It must be a scary problem since no one has been willing to work on it.
