Description How can I remove my account? 2015-10-28 09:40:59 UTC
When somebody who doesn't really know how to use Impress in any advanced way (like me) tries the "Styles and Formatting" tab of the Impress sidebar, one sees a list "Title", "Subtitle", "Background objects" etc. But there is no indication what selecting a element in the list does. Nothing happens. So the next reaction is then to double-click, but that does not do anything visible either, except change the background colour of the item to light blue and not blue (on Windows).

Hi Tor,

Very true..
Comment 2 Cor Nouws 2015-10-28 10:11:21 UTC
(logic work flow is change styles via context menu, in the slides or in the master pages)

still unchanged; better set to enhancement and ad UX-advise

Don't think it's a UX flaw. When styles work as expected, like in Writer, the properties get applied and become visible. If the interaction is unclear it helps to have the default action 'Apply' as first entry in the context menu (as it is defined in the HIG).

But I believe styles are just buggy/misconcepted in Impress. We had a discussion regarding master vs. style in bug 102302.

No other comment than mine, so closing as WF. The issue is clear but this ticket is not actionable. Also, the situation has improved (testing with 6.0 master) meaning selections have the expected a feedback in the sidebar now.
