Created attachment 120636 [details] Embedded image isn't displayed in LibreOffice In the attached document there is a single embedded image (a .PNG) that is visible in Microsoft Office 2013 but isn't visible in any version of LibreOffice. I've tested this in LibreOffice 3.3, 4.0, 4.3, and 5.1alpha.

Created attachment 120641 [details] MS Office "save as" to ODF text document Actually, when "save as" from Word 2013's OOXML to ODF it is fine. The PNG image and the document renders without issue. Document "save as" converted to ODF .ODT by Word 2013 attached.
Created attachment 120642 [details] PNG image extracted from the ODF archive Always worth at least trying to work with the ODF formatted document. Some times trying to make OOXML work just is not worth the effort.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Created attachment 165232 [details] The chart in Word This document actually contains a chart object with no chart elements and only an image inserted onto it. Not even as chart background fill - which could work - but as an image inserted into the chart. There is currently no feature to do this in LO charts so the image still does not appear in: Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 34a09c9c61bff30e8c4d16132bb47b2b1b16e422 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU); UI: en-US Calc: CL
Created attachment 168230 [details] The example file in Word and current Writer Apparently this got fixed with: https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/f1a5bb0b79c212a0459b1a17dd15f1159e663dbd author Balazs Varga <balazs.varga991@gmail.com> Thu Nov 26 17:44:24 2020 +0100 committer Balazs Varga <varga.balazs3@nisz.hu> Mon Nov 30 10:23:29 2020 +0100 tdf#138561 OOXML Chart import: fix custom shape position Now images placed inside charts open correctly. Also they can be saved to ODT format. Save to DOCX still does not work, neither is there an "Insert Image" command in the chart editing menu (nor can it be added via Customize - this might worth a feature request).
Thanks Balazs for fixing this one too :)
