There are many UI menu entry changes since 5.1 version. Most of them are great. But some are not useful at all. This is to request to put "Insert -> Pivot Table" back to "Data -> Pivot Table -> Insert Pivot Table". Currently in 5.1 if you want to insert a pivot table, you have to go to "Insert", but if you want to update it or delete it, you have to go to "Data - Pivot Table". These are the same functionality, all related to pivot table, they have to be grouped together so that the users can find it quickly. Also, in the future if there is another functionality related to pivot table, it has to go to "Data -> Pivot Table" sub menu, not anywhere else.
Hi Kevin, This is discussed already in Bug 91820 and Bug 96473. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 96473 ***
Hi Kevin, (In reply to Kevin Suo from comment #0) > There are many UI menu entry changes since 5.1 version. Most of them are > great. But some are not useful at all. Glad you liked some of them. > This is to request to put "Insert -> Pivot Table" back to "Data -> Pivot > Table -> Insert Pivot Table". > > Currently in 5.1 if you want to insert a pivot table, you have to go to > "Insert", but if you want to update it or delete it, you have to go to "Data > - Pivot Table". When you insert a chart you goto Insert > Chart, but if you want to edit it you goto Edit > Object > Edit. Same goes for images as you Insert > Image and then modify it with Format > Image > Properties. I'm all for grouping related functions all in one place, but its important to have all insert related functions in the Insert menu. > Also, in the future if there is another functionality related to pivot > table, it has to go to "Data -> Pivot Table" sub menu, not anywhere else. Yes all of the other pivot table related functions would go into that submenu.
