Created attachment 123580 [details] output file in ppt that shows the problems (visible when opening with Impress as well) When saving ODP to PPT and PPTX (the results are identical), some issues: 1. Text rotation not correct (p1,4,5) 2. Text box loses "fit height to text" attribute (p2) 3. Tab info does not appear to be transferred correctly (p3, first line of text box) 4. Smart text size changed (p3) 5. Ovals and arrow lines lost (p5) I must say that for an alpha-version, this is remarkably stable! Thank you. I had a re-occrrence of bug 46447 in v5.1, but not in this version.
Created attachment 123581 [details] ODP source document original ODP file - companion to PPT file which reflects the problems.
Separate bug reports would need to be created for each 5 issues. I am not seeing problem no. 1. I'm not sure about no. 3 either. Arch Linux 64-bit, KDE Plasma 5 Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 011e65c93053c88eb752e50ef47c69872608cbcd CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: default; Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8) Built on March 22nd 2016
Please bear in mind: - it's highly unlikely that any bugs of type "multiple problems with this file/bad rendering/this should look like", will be fixed - each issue (section break, paragraph break, text box, picture...) should be reported separately, but only after a search for already reported bugs - if bugs don't exist, they should be reported separately, even if they happen with the same file - example file should be reduced to minimum test case for a specific problem, with clear file history or steps to reproduce from scratch - FILEOPEN problems are differenet from FILESAVE, and DOC or PPT is different filter from DOCX or PPTX - if there's a problem with saving to DOCX, there should be original ODT to test, direct saving to DOC/DOCX doesn't reveal how it was supposed to look like (OK, ODP source is here). Again, please search. There are many bugs for Impress. Text rotation should be Bug 104835, it's not supported at all in Impress. After the search, please clarify what's remained for this bug.
Thanks for commenting Timur. I don't understand them, though. The FILESAVE AS Microsoft (PPT/PPTX) format does not work. I gave examples of how it is not working. Surely one person works on a single function (like FILESAVE) Are you seriously saying that that if there are 5 issues in this one function FILESAVE, then one must report 5 bugs, and attach the source ODP, and result PPT and PPTX to each one? This sounds like a very ineffective approach and punishing to the bug reporter. What is the ration of MSO vs. LO users? 10:1, 100:1? If a PPT(X) does not display the same way as the ODP I created, than I basically have to redo it in Powerpoint. Who is prepared to live with that? It is not a matter of not being willing or committed, but having to be able to pay bills as well. My workaround is that I export the ODP to PDF and share that with others. However, if a boss or client wants it in MS format, then that is not an option, and I am forced to do the original file using Powerpoint. In the mean time, I am now on LO Version: 5.3.0.1 I saved the original ODP to PPT, and Powerpoint 2010 cannot open the file. I saved the ODP to PPTX: Powerpoint can open the file

Yes, 1 issue per report like I said in my comment 2 already. You don't have to attach the files to each one: you can simply refer to them as attachment 123580 [details] etc. after they exist in one report (eg. this report).
I did some investigation for you: 1. Text rotation not correct (p1,4,5) WORKS NOW 2. Text box loses "fit height to text" attribute (p2) STILL BROKEN (but I'm not seeing it ticked in the ODP in right-click - Text or Position & size) 3. Tab info does not appear to be transferred correctly (p3, first line of text box) WORKS NOW 4. Smart text size changed (p3) STILL BROKEN 5. Ovals and arrow lines lost (p5) This should be split in two: ovals are still gone, but arrows are now partly misplaced (the ones pointing up and down) More issues: 6. The text "foote" in the footer of slide 2 is gone 7. The text in the arrow box of slide 5 now goes to 2 lines instead of 4 Please use latest master to test and search for existing reports. Closing now. You can add the reports in a comment here like bug xxxxx, bug yyyyy.. Remember to just use: attachment 123581 [details] and it will be linkified magically.
