I am using Lubuntu 16.04 64-bit and LibreOffice Version: 5.1.2.2 Build ID: 1:5.1.2-0ubuntu1. I am experiencing some font distortion in the titlebar/menus (see attached screenshot).

Please try to disable openGL and HW acceleration.
Tools - Options -View

I have seen similar screenshot, unfortunately cannot find the bug, but it's a duplicate.
