Description Thomas Lendo 2018-04-03 20:34:55 UTC
Used font and object colors aren't added to the Document colors palette.

You can test it by adding a shape or frame or text and assigning a color to them.

Actual result:
The used colors are missing in the Document colors palette.

Expected result:
Same behavior as in Writer, document colors are stored in the palette.

More info:

1) Create a new text document.
2) Draw a figure (a rectangle)
3) Change color of the rectangle
4) Check Document Color palette.

Results: new rectangle color not in Document color palette

Expected results: new color in document color palette

Note: Not even the default "blue" color of the rectangle is in the Doc Color palette.

Note 2:
Colors in Doc Colors palette are gathered from

Still in a recent master build:

Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

Noting how it differs between applications:

- for Calc, both font and cell background colours are remembered
- for Writer, font colours are remembered, but not character highlights. Inside text frames, nothing is remembered. Shape area and line not remembered. Paragraph area and line neither.
- for Impress and Draw, none are remembered (tested area, line, font, character highlight)

So, in summary, and according to my tests, the Document color palette only works for a limited set of elements:
- Font colour in Writer
- Font colour in Calc
- Cell background in Calc

It should work for any applied colour, anywhere.

Tested with:

Version: 7.4.6.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5b1f5509c2decdade7fda905e3e1429a67acd63d
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
