Start Calc. Goto Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Advanced. Enable macro recording. OK In Calc enter some values. Start Macro recording. That is in Tools > Macros > Record Macro. A little window opens with a 'Stop Recording' icon. Do something, e.g. Use Strg+ * (in numpad). That should mark the range with the entered data. Use Arrow keys. That should move the cell cursor. Use Arrow keys combined with Shift-key. That should mark a range. Press some number or character keys. That should fill the current cell. None of these work. Click 'Stop Recording'. No macro is recorded. It acts, as if the keyboard is disabled. Do the same in LibreOffice 5.4 to see how it should work. I see the error in Version: 6.4.5.0.0+ (x64) Build ID: 70a2071ce91b71326659e645dd97996262ea309a CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: GL; VCL: win; Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded It is OK in Version: 5.4.7.2 (x64) Build-ID: c838ef25c16710f8838b1faec480ebba495259d0 CPU-Threads: 8; BS: Windows 6.19; UI-Render: Standard; Gebietsschema: de-DE (en_US); Calc: CL
I reported something similar in bug report# 143217. In Windows OS, your keyboard seems to be locked as soon as you click on Record Macro. To start a macro (after you clicked on Record) you must click on a command Icon in the Edit Tool Bar, such as Cut, Paste, Copy, etc. or click on (point to) a cell. You will be able to record the macro. (However, if you clicked on a cell, instead of an Icon, the macro will only aplly to that cell). This problem seems to exist only in the Windows version of Libreoffice.

I don't reproduce this. I see something recored in LO 6.4.0 and 7.4+. Please retest, also with a clean profile.
I don't see any message about that someone can reproduce this bug. So the status should be UNCONFIRMED. There is also question to Regina, if the bug is present in the latest version, so I am setting the status to NEEDINFO. Adding Regina to CC list.
The locked keyboard still happens in Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 3a4a12b3801b0b88d119c6e7aaca1e183f7e470f CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL
Works fine here. I noticed while testing with 7.4 that the macro recording dialog seemed to steal the focus at the start, so I had to click on a cell before I could use the keyboard. Was this your problem? Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 1c638b7ac46d8077994c8483e6becc4a33efd12b CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_FI); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
