In LO Writer, we have (among others) paragraph styles and character styles. Both are obviously quite necessary. Now, in Impress, one definitely needs multiple paragraphs (and other slide objects) to have consistent style, and to be able to change that style for them all at once. But it is also the case that one may need sequences of text _within_ a paragraph or a box or what-not to share a style, and to be able to change that style for them all at once. It is not an esoteric use-case to want to style: * Internet Links * Emphasized words/phrase * Source code keywords * Placeholder text * Inline quotations etc. But - LO Impress does not offer such styles - neither through the Styles sidebar nor through the menus. It really must IMHO.
