Created attachment 173669 [details] Example file from Word with footnote set to "below text" Attached Word-made file demonstrates the “Below text” setting for footnote, which can have two placement settings: “Below text” and “At the bottom of page”. Currently there is no option in Writer to set “Below text”, footnotes are always positioned as “At the bottom of page”. Writer only supports “End of page” and “End of document” (=Endnote) positioning of footnotes, but not intra-page layout. Also endnotes in Word also use the “Below text” intra-page positioning, and Word UI does not allow to change this. Only “At the end of sections” and “At the end of document” can be selected. This bug is to develop the necessary UI and layout, ODF/DOCX support can be topic to other bugs. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open attached document 2. Open attachment 106978 [details] for the same layout in endnotes (from bug 58521) Actual results: Footnotes/Endnotes start at the bottom of the page. Expected results: Creating a similar layout should be allowed in Tools – Footnotes and Endnotes dialog.
