Description: when sending outline to clipboard it doesn't make it possible in an external program, another text editor, for example, to paste it there... only in Libreoffice can you paste it... suggestion: "Send" replaced with "Copy" -- Copy to Clipboard this action people are familiar with owing to using Youtube ...... NOTE: when we copy something, it is better to call it "copy", not "send" which we link to "sending"... programmers, sure, use send al the time... but Libreoffice is not for programming :) and if the term "Copy" is used there won't be a confusion if the person had anything else on that (main) clipboard ready to be pasted and it would be gone, replaced by that outline :) Nor would be the person surprised if s/he had a piece of text on her clipboard ready to be pasted and the outline would replace it... so, basically there appears to be no reason to be so precautious as to "send" it to another clipboard probably not in use at that moment :) bigger is the surprise when someone wants to paste it in another text editor or browser cannot paste it than if realizing that what was on the clipboard the other moment is gone now :) Steps to Reproduce: 1. send outline to clipboard 2. open an external text editor, try to paste it there 3. Actual Results: nothing happens Expected Results: the outline should be pasted Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: //
I coould paste outline into MS Word, but not into Microsoft Editor. So for me it looks like an enhancement request cc: Design-Team
The clipboard content is rudimentary. It has only Rich Text Format. Especially plain text, which is needed for editors, is missing. SoftMaker TextMaker kann read the clipboard content too. So I think the clipboard content is not wrong but doesn't contain enough formats. I agree with enhancement request.
Pasting also works in Abiword. But it doesn't in e.g. gedit. I agree that it should allow pasting simpler text in all text editors that don't support headings (possibly keeping some formatting and tabulation) if the user wants that. I tried to rename this bug accordingly. Note that the issue about the naming of the feature is in Bug 151951.
