Created attachment 197687 [details]
The Table menu in the RO file with cursor in the editable section

See attachment 197685 [details] for an example

In a read-only document, when a section is editable, it is not possible to insert and edit a table in the editable section.

1. Set the attachment 197685 [details] document as read only on the file system, open it
2. When it is opened as read only, click in the yellow section, which is editable
3. Type something, then open the Table menu
-> every item is disabled

Hello Gabor Keleme,

Thank you for reporting the bug. I can confirm that the bug is present in LibreOffice version 24.8.2.1 (current version) and in 25.2.0.0 (master build). I followed your steps and I was not able to insert a table in the editable section when the entire document is set to Read Only.

Master Build

Version: 25.2.0.0.alpha0

This seems to work better (Table -> Insert Table, Table -> Properties) since:

Commit Notification 2024-11-29 01:16:53 CET

Oliver Specht committed a patch related to this issue.
It has been pushed to "master":

https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/40436e1dfdad42690cc0cfc4781c38e5419e0dc5

tdf#146553 Enable additonal functions in editable section while in r/o mode

Several other submenus from Table menu still don't work.

Checked in

Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 08e40accb3fabe676746c40797efc20eaa218801
CPU threads: 14; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (build 19045); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

Now the Table - Insert Table and Table Properties items are enabled, and the toolbar button as well.
