When saving a new document, if the file format is selected first and then the document saved, then the extension seems to match the file format. However, if an existing file has been already saved in one format and File.Save_As is used to change the file format then the extension is not changed. E.g. if a DOCX document is saved as an ODT then the existing *.DOCX file is overwritten. Earlier versions of LibreOffice would change the extension, resulting in separate *.DOCX and *.ODT files. Thanks and regards
Can't reproduce it in Linux. 1- Open writer, type some random stuff 2- Save as, chose docx (Office 365) 3- Checked in the console, file is there. 4- Save as, chose ODF (ODT), same name except the default selected extension (anyway in Linux there are no extensions). 5- Checked in the console, both file exists. Hi Raúl, Following your comments on Bug 164441, it seems that my LibreOffice KDE Integration isn't working, so I think I'm not getting the correct dialog box. I've filed a bug with bugs.kde.org (#497867), as it seems this may be a problem with KDE Neon. (That said, someone using OpenSUSE is having a similar error trying to remove LibreOffice KDE Integration (#463470).) Regards Peter
Not reproducible in: Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: f24bb80e45c1693db33b47ee695436b2c8d5fbcd CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Both the original file and the new file saved with the .docx extension exist in the File Manager.
The reporter earlier created bug 163466 for the same issue, so I am closing this as invalid.
