Description Eyal Rozenberg 2025-04-07 09:21:10 UTC
The (Quick) Find Toolbar currently has a toggle for "Match Diacritics"; yet - the Quick Find Sidebar does not have that toggle in its gearwheel/settings dialog-button.

More generally - any option available, at least by default, on the Find Toolbar must be available on the sidebar (QFS).

While I dislike the term "must have" the find sidebar has indeed room for enhancements.

The Sidebar Find deck (bug 95405) was intentionally isolated from the Find & Replace dialog as for bug 160543. Meaning, IIRC only the Sidebar Navigator deck in its 'Repeat search' mode will follow the search parameters from both the F&R dialog or the Find toolbar.

Implementation of a search result GUI for the F&R dialog was removed from bug 95405, and will need its own SB representation on the deck, or a panel of its own on the SB or directly on the dialog.

But then the new SB Find deck should provide the same set of Find parameters as the Find toolbar, IIUC they use the same search paths.

So yes the 'Search Options' of the SB Find deck gear button should conform to those of the Find toolbar.
