Description: As the title says, even in 25.8.0.0.beta1, any Writer document crashes the app when the user presses shift+enter. It's 100% reproducible on my side. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a new writer document 2.Click on the text 3.Shift+Enter Actual Results: Crash Expected Results: Paragraph break Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 25.8.0.0.beta1 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 1b25e37a63c5a6f16bdcb365ed3da80ac419e6e4 CPU threads: 10; OS: macOS 15.5; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-US (en_IT.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
I can't reproduce it in Version: 25.8.0.4 (AARCH64) Build ID: 48f00303701489684e67c38c28aff00cd5929e67 CPU threads: 8; OS: macOS 15.5; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: en-US (en_ES.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Do you have Shift + Enter customized for any command ?
No repro either with Version: 26.2.0.0.alpha0+ (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: fd48da7236f26d9d8d16759546a5c860f91b82de CPU threads: 8; OS: macOS 15.6; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded With regard to OP's expected result, by default Shift-Enter does not produce a paragraph break (\cr\ln), but rather, only a new line (\ln).
Interesting, then it might be specific to my sistem. I didn't add any system-wide keyboard shortcut like this. How can I get the exception report from the app? I couldn't find relevant instructions for macOS. Thanks
25.8.0.0.beta1 is rather dated. Is it also happening with release build: 25.8.0.4
Yes, it still happens with that version. I again tried searching for crash logs but I found none.
(In reply to John from comment #3) > Interesting, then it might be specific to my sistem. I didn't add any > system-wide keyboard shortcut like this. How can I get the exception report > from the app? I couldn't find relevant instructions for macOS. > Thanks Try looking in Console.app for crash logs, using the search string "soffice". I haven't had to hunt for LO crash logs in a while, so Apple might have moved them somewhere else.

The viewbridge reference reminded me of a similar crashing behaviour I had a while ago that others couldn't reproduce. It turned out that the problem went away with an OS update, so it could be down to the particular version of macOS you are using.
See also tdf#167080, which isn't my crashing bug, but which relates to incomplete signing of the libraries included in the release package. Perhaps what you are experiencing is in some way related?
