Description: I have seen that when changing UI, the menu bar hides in a compact menu in all options except for "Standard Bars". It would be nice if libreoffice had an option to hide this menu bar in a compact menu, as for example occurs in Firefox or Thunderbird and that it could be activated with a keyboard shortcut such as "Alt", as the other applications mentioned above have. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Libreoffice (any of the applications) with the default user interface "Standard Bars". 2. You can't find the "View menu bar" or "Hide menu bar in compact menu" option anywhere in Libreoffice. Now change the UI to any of the other options. By default, the menu bar appears as a compact menu and there is an option to "View Menu Bar". 3. Return to the user interface if needed for "Standard Bars". Actual Results: Currently, in the "Standard Bars" user interface there is no option to "Hide/Show the menu bar" so that it becomes a compact menu. Expected Results: After the suggestion, there should be an option to "hide/show" the menu bar in a compact menu and vice versa. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: es Module: SpreadsheetDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Mageia 9 OS is 64bit: yes
Hiding the main menu for Standard UI mode is an interesting idea for MUFFIN UI. Either simple hiding, or a mini-menu as feasible. I would want it placed under F10 toggle control (see also bug 107343).
You can customize the Menubar / uno:Menubar command to your liking into any UI. Makes not much sense to me to hide it on the classic UI but... and F10 shows the menu as Stuart expects. So -1 to make this available be default but +0 as it is available.
