LibreOffice 3.4.0 [OOO340m1 (Build:12)] - locale: FR Window Seven Edition Familiale Premium SP1 - 64bits Use the attached file "chien_au_louvre.docx" which was created with Word2011 on MAC: - Open this .docx with LibreOffice 3.4.0 (there is just one page) - The expected result is in three parts (see the attached screen copy from Word: "chien_au_louvre.jpg"): - a picture of a dog in the background - a small picture of a statue in the left lower corner - a text in the upper right corner - What happens on my computer: - At the opening, I just see the dog - Working with the document does not allow me to retrieve the text and the small picture of the statue. This was confirmed by others users.
Please reattach file. There is nothing attached.

Test document isn't downloadable anymore (see comment 2) Placing in NEEDINFO because we really need a test document which can reproduce this behavior. @bug reporter: please retest with an updated version of LibreOffice (http://www.libreoffice.org/download), if still reproducible: please reattach document.
Created attachment 91282 [details] original document reduced I could reduce the document using Word2010 on W7, here it is.
Created attachment 91283 [details] comparing 3 screenshots I gathered in a single doc 3 results and you can see that we have not the same result as we obtain with Word2010. The main issue with latest versions (4.1.4 & 4.2.0)is that we have now 3 pages instead of one.
Thanks for providing the needed information :-)! Lets mark this back to NEW, because now a test document is attached. (In reply to comment #7) > The main issue with latest versions (4.1.4 & 4.2.0)is that we have now 3 > pages instead of one. I can reproduce this behavior, tested using Windows 8.1 with LibreOffice Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 5be7ec4193b892e5643ff5f3f2e6755319569190 TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2013-12-27_23:55:02 Kind regards, Joren

The result is still wrong, but I'm not sure this would be beneficial to seek the resolution. I have no need, and I see that my current version of LibreOffice gives a pretty good result with docx documents created with Word 2013 (without image). And much better result than reading the same document with Word 2010 ! I suggest to set the status to RESOLVED - WONTFIX What do you think? LibO 4.4.2.2 - Vista-32b Kind regards, Michel
When opening attachment 91282 [details] from comment #6 in a recent daily (20160826), then change anchoring to paragraph and set wrapping to background, makes the situation much better..
