It will be very handy if you assign (alt + =) hot key for autosum as in EXCEL. This will be very useful as autosum function is used most. Thanks With Regards (Vijay)
@reporter: What the heck is "autosum"?
Autosum is not a term in LibO. We are talking about the function done by the Sigma Σ in the Formula Bar. I cant see big advantage using such a shortcut, but UI so seems to be incomplete. We never had a shortcut in LibO, so Version -> 3.3.0 Usability / Accessibility aspects? <http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/accessibility/#_Keyboard%20Navigation> The related OOo bug is 45563 - Request keyboard shortcut for AutoSum Sounds like an EasyHack
Since all new unconfirmed bugs start in state UNCONFIRMED now and old unconfirmed bugs were moved to NEEDINFO with a explanatory comment, all bugs promoted above those bug states to NEW and later are automatically confirmed making the CONFIRMED whiteboard status redundant. Thus it will be removed.
I would also really need this shortcut. I am constantly copying text from test file and autosum the column. If this is really a "easy hack", can someone please add it to the list: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Easy_Hacks_by_Difficulty
This request is almost 4 years old. Even the faintest hope is fast fading. Please make this "EasyHack" happen: it will add value to an already great product.

There should be at least more than one way of using "autosum". Or the user should be able to change the way he gets to the sigma icon. I for one couldn't change the location of the icon from the formula toolbar, nor move it to another toolbar, nor move it to a menu or submenu. If it was possible to move it to a menu or to another toolbar then the user could decide to assign keyboard shortcut to it if he wanted, just like for other commands on the toolbars and menus. But he should not be locked with the icon in only one possible position and only one way of activating it (by moving the mouse to the formula toolbar and clicking the icon.) I think you should also be able to change the sigma icon to another one, as I reckon this sigma icon is used for more than one thing.
Almost 8 years later and this bug/feature request is still unresolved. I would have thought that having a very commonly used function not available as a keyboard shortcut, or indeed any way, other than mouse clicking a GUI element would be an issue for universal accessibility of LibreOffice. I hope it is resolved soon.
I have just submitted a patch for this to Gerrit.
Created attachment 160941 [details] Video demo of patch. Here is a video demo of the patch. I press "Alt + =" to trigger the autosum, and then Enter to finalize.

Do other shortcuts with the Alt key work for you? E.g.: Alt + PageDown -- should move the cursor one page to the right Alt + PageUp -- should move the cursor one page to the left

(In reply to Viktor from comment #16) > for me it also not working, neither at home nor at work > German keyboard Layout. > Short cuts like: > ► Alt + PageDown > ► Alt + PageUp > are working fine Thanks for reporting. Seems like this is a locale-related issue. I tested by switching to German keyboard layout on Ubuntu, and found the following: 1) Using the *Left* Alt key, I press Alt+Shift+0 and the shortcut works OK. 2) Using the *Right* Alt key (AltGr), the shortcut does not work, and I get a "°" symbol instead. Can you please let me know, does the same happen for you?

So, not working for me. Nor "Alt+Shift+0". I am setting this one back to fixed because the enhancement was implemented. To keep things tidy and focused, please open a new bug report of issues with this shortcut not working for specific locales or keyboard layouts (if the issue still exists in a recent version of LibreOffice).
I should mention that this is verified as fixed in: Version: 7.3.0.0.beta1 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 436f14c25ec1847646b953cf13d0db4f7ca3be57 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Version: 7.2.4.1 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 27d75539669ac387bb498e35313b970b7fe9c4f9 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Version: 7.1.8.1 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e1f30c802c3269a1d052614453f260e49458c82c CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
