Description Christian MINARY 2012-03-02 05:52:24 UTC
Whan making PDF from an an odt file, either from the PDF export file menu or the PDF button Writer crashes.
The only alternative is to create the PDF using a virtual printer (Fxit in my case)
My OS is Windows 7 64bits

NOT Reproducible with "LibreOffice 3.5.1.1 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 45a2874-aa8c38d-dff3b9c-def3dbd-62463c8] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

@Christian MINARY:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important inormation is missing.
May be hints on <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport> will help you to find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing list
Please:
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
  problem better than a text comment, for example with all your PDF export
  settings.
  Best way is to insert your screenshots
  into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
  mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- concerning your PC (video card, ...)
  -- concerning your OS (Language)
  -- concerning your LibO localization (UI language, Locale setting)
  –- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
    (video hardware acceleration ...)
  -- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
  –- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful
  -- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts
Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new information might bring the breakthrough.
May be you can test <https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/> for submitting bug reports?

Some more related bug reports:
* Bug 47511 - PDF: Writer: exporting a document as pdf file will crash Writer
* Bug 46256 - LibreOffice 3.5 Writer crashes when making PDF.

From the count of similar reports/duplicates I suppose we have a real problem with PDF export from Writer in LibreOffice 3.5.x, but it is hard to track it down ...

With some files, Writer crashes not only to export to PDF but simply when you print. I discovered that with the same file it does not crash if you print from the print preview box,

@Christian MINARY:
Could you please attach such an .odt file which makes LibreOffice crash when you try to print or export the file? This would allow us to reproduce the problem, if possible. Thank you very much!

It seems that the bug is no longer happening with further versions of LibreOffice. 3.6 and 4 seem to be ok.
