Created attachment 58281 [details] Test Kit Te effects are similar to "Bug 44838 - FORMATTING: Position, size, word wrap wrong for WRITER OLE Object in CALC", but that is ok in LibO 3.3.0, while the problem discussed here also is visible with that old version. Steps to reproduce with "LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: dc9775d-05ecbee-0851ad3-1586698-727bf66] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit): 1. Open new Spreadsheet 2. Menu 'Insert -> Object -> OLE object -> WRITER object from file - "Template.ods" from test kit' > Writer document contents will be inserted and shown, Expected: looks like in WRITER Actual: Too big margin at the top, cropped at right and boggom margin "Template.odt" has been created with a.m. Version. I did not find a way to get picture in object completely visible. That works fine with OOo 3.1.1 and OOo 3.3, so REGRESSION See my results in "sample.ods" from attached test kit "NewOleObjectView.zip" Result is the same when I insert OLE object into DRAW document.
Very vague suspect: May be this one is related to "Bug 43862 - Page FORMATTING: Margin settings information not compatible with 3.4.4"?
Thanks for bugreport. Reproduced on Fedora 64 bit in 3.3.4: Template.odt inserts initially cropped, but can easily be fixed in 3.5.4: Template.odt inserts initially cropped and impossible to fix it (at least I can not find how to fix cropped OLE) So, after 3.3.4 appears additional regression, impossible to use workaround
Retested, still the same in Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha2+ Build ID: a066acd8709ce69eae4fee3993dbb298e02eb8d5 TinderBox: MacOSX-x86_64@49-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-11-09_09:59:47

The problem is in the Draw object inserted in the Writer document. To fix the ods file do that: 1/ open the text document, double-click the Draw object to edit it 2/ select the whole drawing, right-click and choose Group 3/ ctrl+C to copy the drawing 4/ go back to the text document 5/ remove the Draw object and paste the drawing instead 6/ save the ods file.
