Hi, This was one of the missing features in corporate usage of Writer. We produce a lot of documents with text watermarks(draft, copy, classified etc). However there is not an easy way to add, current solutions are some kind of workaround. Enhancement on text watermarks will be very good. Best regards, Zeki

Using 64-bit Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.1 with 4.0.4-040004-generic kernel LibreOffice version: 5.0.0.0.beta1 Build ID: 0a16c3dda4150008d9be6f24cbd15ac198d116d3 Locale: et-EE (et_EE.UTF-8) There is a frame style called watermark in 5.0.0.0.beta1 and also in 4.4.3.2. There is possible: * Insert->Frame * design as you want: choose the frame/text size, color, alignment and other parameters * apply watermark style to the frame. Current problem in 5.0.0.0.beta1 (possibly also in older versions) is that mouse cursor do not change the shape when is on top of watermark frame border. Therefore it is quite hard to activate watermarked panel later. And there is no rotate feature for the panel. Only for text box but there is no way to set text box as watermark. Rotation should be possible whatever graphical object. Also making gradient (fill with color). I would propose to add watermark mode into Writer like there is master slide in Impress. Then there would be visible notification during the watermark mode is active. Then I can do whatever program allows to do and when exiting watermark mode - all I did, will be shown as watermark. I would like to use also image, embedded object, drawing object (e.g. also copied from Draw) etc as watermark.

I change the title to "PDF export" because it's not clear, except Component, and to avoid confusion with Bug 88774, where watermark is available now.

My take: keep the dialog clean. We should default to the same settings as on the document's watermark dialog (45°, grey) but at max provide access to this dialog from the PDF options and not show every attribute.
