Description narayanaras 2012-11-22 08:35:50 UTC
Problem: I cannot highlight some words in Impress (either in text boxes)

But this function is not there in Impress. (It does exist in Writer, though).
The attached document illustrates the problem with screenshots of Impress GUI.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 64248 ***

It's not a duplicate of bug 64248. This bug is about applying a color background to a portion of a text, while bug 64248 is about selecting several words at once.

I can confirm this bug on LibO 4.3.2.2.

As temporary solution I created empty Writer document, wrote some text in it with highlight, then cut this text, then paste it to Impress (or Draw).

But it is not user-friendly.
So please fix this bug.

I have the same issue.

It seems that this bug is fixed in LibreOffice 5.0 (Ubuntu 12.04.5 with PPA, 1:5.0.0~rc5-0ubuntu1~precise1).

Indeed.
Comment 8 Joel Madero 2015-08-05 15:52:41 UTC
I don't see a commit listed that fixed it so WFM is correct status.

There is no single commit. That's GSoC 2014 project by Matteo Campanelli +
Katarina Behrens's work in Bug 88276.
