scale for 'each drawing' so that the dimension lines show the right (real) measure. I can only set scale globally. In example I draw in scale 1:20: Reality 600 mm (23.62 inch), dimension line shows 30 mm (1.18 inch); I wish it would show 600 mm (23.62 inch). And I wish that I could have a detail drawing in 1:1 in the same document (another page i.e.) with the real measurements. LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 Mac OS X.6.8
Not a valid bug report, completely unintelligibly. What might be "globally"? That all (including comment on users@de.libreoffice.org) seems th show that reporter did not understand all details of "Scaling in Draw" @Frank Dieckmann: Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately you are wrong here, this is the Bug tracking system, not a helpdesk! Regina Henschel explained on users@de.libreoffice.org how that works. You can have individual scaling for each Draw document, but not for each slide in a Draw document. You can get additional assistance on <http://ask.libreoffice.org/questions/> or on the public users mailing list <users@libreoffice.org>, a mailing list from <http://www.documentfoundation.org/contribution/#lists> or <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Local_Mailing_Lists> Before you submit additional reports, please read <https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Bugzilla/de>!

But what I would like to have is that I could have different scales in ONE document. With the expression 'globally' I meant that I could set the scale only for the hole document and not for different drawings or pages. Sorry 'bout my English! Frank
Of course it would be nice to have that possibility, especially for technical drawings / sketches, but the question is whether LibO Draw is designed to be something like that. There are lots of other obstacles (the layer concept, ...). I believe that would be out of scope we want to belabor. So I see a very low priority for this request. Limitation is inherited from OOo.
Seems confirmed - moving to NEW.
The use case for scale as implemented today is basically to relieve the user from conversion. You don't have to divide 6m by 20 as 3cm but just draw 60cm. And the caption at dimension lines is set appropriately, of course. Alternatively you may enlarge the document (limited to 300cm; tdf#39088) and adjust the zoom level. Attaching the scale value to the layer is out of question. You must not mix different scales in one drawing. Having it per page, however, makes sense. It's like dealing with different page sizes (which isn't possible today tdf#49787). While such a feature would be beneficial for experts it adds a lot of confusion. You need to think about zoom level, scale value, and page size to understand a drawing. And that's all to just not open two documents? So finally a scale value per document seems to be the best compromise (suggested in tdf#66470). And the safest solution is to keep the feature where it is, a global option.

Removing UX, units should be stored per document and reloaded properly. As for other settings we should take the default from Tools > Options for newly created documents but allow changing this at Page > Properties.
