Description Marc Pare 2013-02-22 20:56:30 UTC
It would be nice if the Personalization (Personas) would allow users to move back and forth between previously installed themes. As it is now, there is no way to do this or to load a persona that was downloaded locally to a hardrive.

Thanks!

Marc

This would be good. Marked as enhancement request.

Bugs 59611 and 61205 give some help in using Personas created or stored locally. Not ideal as LibreO code would be but works well for me. I only use Personas created and stored locally.

By carefully renaming Personas stored in the /Gallery/Personas folder, a simple LibO restart will install the new Personas. I use the Firefox Personas Plus Custom Personas add-on to test the new Personas as a test bed.

I agree, at least this, but would not be better to create a simple way to create your own themes/personas? Even without an UI.You need only two images and probably a simple xml-file. I dont know exactly. I mean LO should not depend on Firefox.

Bug 93599 points to an attachment 127480 [details] called [details]

LibreOffice: Managing Your In-House Personas.

This gives some details on creating and managing your own Personas offline without using Firefox or Thunderbird. It does, however, use the Expert Configuration feature. I assume that it is unlikely that Personaization will be modified to provide this 'nice to have' for a few of us.

One drawback of the LibreOffice support of Personas (Themes) in 6.2 is that the technique using Expert Configuration no longer works. If you wish to use a Personas already installed on your system and sitting in your Gallery/Personas folder, you need to modify the registrymodifications.xcu file directly. Foe example, on my system I can select a Default-Personas named personas using the 'user friendly'

<item oor:path="/org.openoffice.Office.Common/Misc"><prop oor:name="Persona" oor:op="fuse"><value>own</value></prop></item>
<item oor:path="/org.openoffice.Office.Common/Misc"><prop oor:name="PersonaSettings" oor:op="fuse"><value>default-personas;Default-Personas;default-personas/preview.jpg;default-personas/default-header.jpg;default-personas/default-footer.jpg;#0000ff</value></prop></item>

Firefox/Mozilla personas feature was removed as per ESC and Design Team decisions.
