I've seen that there is the ability to tell you that there's an update available, but you have to download it from the website because "The automatic download of the update is currently not available."

The desirable process would be to:

1. Give the ability to automatically download the correct MSI file somewhere (like in a "LibreOffice Update" folder on the user's desktop)

2. Close LibreOffice (offering a chance to save first)

3. Begin upgrading LibreOffice from the downloaded package with msiexec in unattended mode (/passive, so still shows the normal progress window)

Attached is a mockup of how this could work from a user's perspective. If we can hook it in the right way, a similar workflow could be used on OS X or Linux (with the latter launching doing things via the package manager/PackageKit instead for obvious reasons)
