Description ffs 2013-11-20 21:26:08 UTC
The slide pane should allow slides to be grouped and indented with a indented slides "belonging" to the one above. The groups should be collapsible and it should be possible to move groups around together. It's pretty annoying not being able to do this. TBH this has been annoying me for years but I've assumed that this feature exists only I don't know how to use it. Either way it could be improved!

Medium - there are workarounds (moving them one by one) but default of medium seems appropriate. Would definitely be a cool addition

Keywords -

Whiteboard Status - ProposedEasyHack -- perhaps linking them through the navigator somehow might be possible.

In order to limit the confusion between ProposedEasyHack and EasyHack and to make queries much easier we are changing ProposedEasyHack to NeedsDevEval.

Thank you and apologies for the noise

I'm not sure that this feature is needed

Comment 7 V Stuart Foote 2019-01-11 13:34:56 UTC
Slide pane provides slide sorting. Additional tools to organize presentation are reasonable.

This feature enhancement to the Slide Pane remains valid, and merits functional design and development evaluation.

I think this is a very necessary idea - talks/presentations contain a hierarchy of ideas and being to group slides is this way is definitely helpful.
This is a standard feature of other popular presentation packages (and has to be represented in the file format somewhere).
Comment 9 Heiko Tietze 2019-01-14 09:42:56 UTC
Don't think this is a widely needed feature. But OTOH a "slide sorter" has exactly this requirement except the collapsible feature. So if a dev wants to implement this...

This is useful for larger presentations. Can be seen at least in MSO 2016 as collapsible Sections. Zoom from bug 38263 Integrated in MSO from v.2019.
