There is no option to add image in header or footer in calc. There is an option to add image as background even-though, but its very rigid & complicated and is virtually useless, as there is no option of resizing the image. It is particularly important feature if we want to use Calc in corporates. As many company's would like to add their logo / image along with data sheets they make using Calc. There should an option to add graphics easily as header / footer. Also there should be option to resize / crop the graphic accordingly. Operating System: All Version: 4.1.4.2 release

Inserting an image in the header / footer in Calc is allowed at least since LO 5.0. The possibility to resize and crop the image is still not available. Summary updated accordingly. Best regards. JBF
Images in spreadsheet headers/footers are IMHO frequently used. The current handling in Calc is almost unusable for an end user, because it is: (1) hidden in "Format" -> "Page" -> "Header" -> "More" -> "Background". This is extremely unintuitive (2) Cropping and resizing, as well as proper scaling is currently not possible, which means that the user has to use image editing to properly add a logo to a spreadsheet header/footer.
I actually put a company logo in a Calc header and ended up scrapping it because the image was lost when the spreadsheet was exported to Microsoft formats (XLS and XLSX). Still, I think being able to add images to headers and footers, in Calc, would be awesome!
