Description David McMackins 2014-02-12 13:40:09 UTC
I'm working with a docx file, and I've noticed that despite being configured as double-spaced, the document is still single-spaced when using Enter to start a new line. If I save the document and open it in Word, it looks as expected, but Writer displays the spacing inaccurately. I also attempted saving the document as odt, but that didn't resolve the issue.

The final audience of this document uses Word, so it isn't a matter of the final product being wrong, but I have an incorrect idea of how long the document is while writing in Writer, and the print preview also shows this error.

I see that the space between paragraphs of same style is too small. The reason is, that the new property "contextual spacing" is wrongly set for the .docx import.

Open "Style and Formatting"-window, right click "Default Style", tab "Indents & Spacing", uncheck "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style".

That check box actually doesn't exist when editing a style, but I can right-click within the text and select Paragraph for that option.

That depends on the version. I have used Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 160db96a882a2be8c3307e8a04beda4ae93a13c4 and Version: 4.2.0.4
Build ID: 05dceb5d363845f2cf968344d7adab8dcfb2ba71. There it is already there. For workaround for older versions see bug 53360, comment 3.
