Description lal 2014-03-04 18:06:34 UTC
Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. run installation wizard in windows
2. select option "start LO on system start" (i.e. whwn windows starts, the LO quick launch icon should appear)
3. restart windows

Current behavior:
Even if it is selected when installing, the quicklaunch is disabled when I restart windows (I have to go into settings and tick again, then it works after restarting)

Expected behavior:
LO quick launch should be started with windows

I run the Swedish version, so the exact terminology in English may be different.

It has been mentione din earlier bug, bug has not still been fixed in version 4.1...

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice
(5.1.6 or 5.2.3 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and
your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave
a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo";
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

if this never had worked with LO, wouldn't it make sense to remove this option from gui installer?

Upgrade from 6.3.2 using most current installer for 6.3.3.0 (x86) on Windows 7 Home Premium selecting "customize" then "start LO when starting up windows" fails to enable Quickstarter to run

after Reboot still does not enable Quickstarter to run.

Check quickcstarter chckbox under "Tool" | Options | General, look for flag being set, and not set by installation progrm, in User-mode.

So there are two 'profiles' on this Win7 x86 machine. 'admin' and 'user'.

When upgrading from LO 6.3.2 to 6.3.3.0 option is given in installer.

the Option is selected.

But the installer fails to trip the flag for "Start LO on Windows Start" see image.

Need to Manually set the flag, then Re-Boot PC, to re-initialize and re-read registry value for Startup entries. (see picture in JPG

Dear all,

Bug, is stil there in Dutch Windwos ( 10 ? ) version 7.5.1.2.

Extra additional information / wishes . . .

If the installer detects ( should it ? could it ? ) that the current ( or previous ) version of LibreOffice has enabled this feature the installer should be /could be enabeling this function / feature during setup.

Today I updated my Dutch Windows (10) LibreOffice version 7.5.0.? to 7.5.1.4. by downloading the LibreOffice_7.5.1_Win_x86-64.exe file and running it.

I remember ( do not have a screen shot :( ) the on a screen it asked :

A) Should I make a desktop shortcut ? Enabeld

B) Should I start at Windows boot ? DisAbled

( I don't know the right / exact ( dutch ) words )

Because I want my LibreOffice running all the time, I want it to start right after windows boot / during Windows startup . . . .

I told LibreOffice 7.5.0.? to do so. Even previous versions.

I hoped setup / installer was able to analyze this setting and aplay it ( agian )

But after each, running of a LibreOffice_?.?.?_Win_x86-64.exe file I have to set it myself.

Hopes it helps
Wouter

I'm the only ( administrator ) user on this Windows 10 system.
