Created attachment 107396 [details] Test file demonstrating the bug Problem description: VIEWING - Slide content (ie. the slide image itself) appears sometimes when using notes mode, sometimes not, without apparent logic. - Aside from this, slide content is perfectly editable in normal mode, even when this content does not show up in notes mode... - Aside from this, notes are also perfectly editable. - As a result of this erratic display behavior, the PDF file lacks some slide images when printing pages containing slides & notes. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the ODP file in attachment. 2. See the result in notes mode. 3. See the result in PDF export. Current behavior: Erratic slide display in notes mode. Expected behavior: All slides are displayed in notes mode.
Hi David, thanks for the report. I can confirm this on Linux with version 4.3.2.2. Interesting.. Slide #2 contains some text and shapes, more or less as slide 3, yet is not shown in the Notes view.
I see the same behaviour in LibreOffice 3.3.0 , thus must be inherited from OOo.
Created attachment 110907 [details] Multiple master slides in notes view This bug affects additional Master slides in notes view, and it appears to be detailed in this thread: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/18353/impress-slide-content-not-shown-on-notes-page/ The workaround of tabbing in notes view and to resize the box does not work for me. Most of the times, the box reverts to its default position. An effective workaround is to create as many templates as I need Master slides, and to import them using Format > Slide Design. This is a major annoyance, as I can't think of a presentation not having several custom master slides. Could this bug figure in the MAB list, please?
I run LibreOffice version: 4.3.4.1 on Fedora Linux.

This is really a problem in using notes in Impress because notes lack in normal view per Bug 33603 and shortcuts for changing modes lack per Bug 87674. Still there in 5.4+ master. I don't see a need for title change from "VIEWING: Erratic display of slide content in notes mode" to "Notes view does not display additional Master slides correctly" because it's not master slides specific. So I change it back.

Repro in recent trunk build with first attachment 107396 [details]: Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 92e5898fa9ffa4dd8742f5f26e790563feef286e CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded ...however, steps to reproduce from scratch would be welcome, because the element showing the slide contents is absent and could have been inadvertently deleted by the user. (In reply to nodatalog from comment #3) > http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/18353/impress-slide-content-not-shown- > on-notes-page/ The workaround of clicking on the layout in the sidebar does work for me for attachment 107396 [details], it restores the slide contents on the notes page. (In reply to nodatalog from comment #3) > Created attachment 110907 [details] > Multiple master slides in notes view I think this should be considered a different issue: this is misplaced content, not missing slide contents. And again, steps to reproduce are needed. If I move the object back to where it should be, it stays there after a save and reload (in both LO 4.0.0.3 and the trunk build above). Now that Impress can show the Notes View page contents in the Navigator (since LO 7.5, for bug 155393), it's easier to investigate the different issues.
