Description Pau 2015-08-20 08:32:42 UTC
When I try to select a picture or a vector, cursor change from arrow to another shape (is the classical shape for moving objects) and as a result every click moves the selection immediatly. This is annoying. I never now if selection has been moved or not.

OP system: windows 7
PC: Packard Bell - oneTwo 53220 - 64 bits

please upload a simple test file so it's easier and faster to triage this bug.
Comment 2 Joel Madero 2015-08-23 20:22:46 UTC
setting to NEEDINFO - once you attach a simple test document please set to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks

I have the same problem. If I try to select one object, I often end up (a) with another, and (b) with a spurious drag-and-drop, probably partly due to the freeze/latency effects.

While more info would probably help, leaving this on needinfo seems unnecessary.

I tend to work with complex files. It is relatively modest latency with simple files, and steadily worse latency with complex files, so a simple test file won't work. Therefore, making as unconfirmed.

I get significant latency at only 65 kb.

I turn off anti-aliasing, which helps but doesn't solve the problem.

I just switched from 200 mb to 512 mb of graphics cache, which seems to help but again doesn't solve the problem.

I sometimes save, quit, and restat LibreOffice, which also seems to help.

(Never had this problem personally)

I can't test this in LibreOffice 5.3.3, because 5.3.3 repeatedly crashes on opening. See bug 103690.

Dear Pau,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa
