I can reproduce this with LO 5.0.2 in Ubuntu 15.10.
(In reply to Luke from comment #1) > Created attachment 123099 [details] > Save as XLSX and Open in Calc Didn't get any resurrected data labels after saving to XLSX and reloading. I also tried deleting one more data label for a 2nd try. Also, with attachment 123098 [details], if I go and delete the extra labels highlighted in attachment 123142 [details] and save to XLSX & reload, they don't come back to haunt. Buovjaga, This is a FILEOPEN bug. That means you either 1) Need a copy of Excel to open attachment 123098 [details] and compare OR 2) Compare the EXCEL image in attachment 123142 [details] with attachment 123098 [details] You cannot easily verify this bug with only LibreOffice. There may also be a FILESAVE issue, but that is not what this bug report is about. You do NOT need to > delete the extra labels in and save to XLSX & reload I am not asking for a workaround. I am reporting a bug with the XLSX importer. To verify, you only need to open the XLSX file (attachment 123098 [details]) and compare it to how Excel renders the file.
Well, it's not unambiguously a FILEOPEN bug as you have creation in Calc in step 1.. that's what I was reacting to. But sure, we can set to NEW just based on your example XLSX.
