Context menu display:
Open a new Writer document
Right-mouse button click on the page

LibreOffice 531 : 2s

LO4452
Startup : 16.9s
Writer context menu : 0.20s

LO5162
Startup : 15.4s

Note that the times measured are all "cold start", i.e. not using a recent LO context for the user profile.

One way to test this is to launch another app in between restarting LO, or even a previous branch version with different user profile path.

I can confirm. However looks quite similar to my report bug 103252 (except testing here is a bit more substantial; so feel free to add bug 103252 as duplicate)
Comment 4 Dennis Roczek 2017-04-12 16:00:12 UTC
@Alex: Java activated in both suites? (I might try to confirm it later [whatever later is])

Yes, JDK8_121 for the latest Stable/Fresh versions.
Comment 6 Telesto 2017-04-18 17:58:50 UTC
Probably (also) related to the main-loop / idle handler re-work. See chatlog wget (attachment 132593 [details], bug 106154)
Comment 7 Alex Thurgood 2018-07-09 07:06:08 UTC
Version: 6.0.5.2
Build ID: 54c8cbb85f300ac59db32fe8a675ff7683cd5a16
Threads CPU : 4; OS : Mac OS X 10.13.5; UI Render : par défaut;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group

Startup : 6.5s
Writer context menu (initial launch): 2.29s
Writer context menu (subsequent launch): 0.33s

The initial context menu launch and display of context menu is still slow in relative terms compared to previous versions of LO (and current AOO), however the initial startup times to display StartCenter are back to something acceptable.

This WFM makes me very happy.
