Follow up to bug 34305. Tested with libreoffice-3.3.1 of openSUSE Factory. The DOCX file, available at https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=394228 (cf. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=645557 ) contains hidden text. Screen shot without hidden text in Word(View) 2003 w/ compatibility package: attachment 43703 [details]. That's also the result with LibreOffice 3.3.1 and correct. However, if one enables the viewing of hidden texts in Word 2003, "Rating Snapshot (1 review)" is shown after the "5 out of 5". In LibreOffice, even with "View|Hidden Paragraphs" enabled, the text is not shown.
[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.4Beta4 – WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) English UI [DEV300m103 (Build:4)]". Uner "LOWES" textframes and text is missing in LibO Contents shown with OOo 3.1.1 (but looks disorted) Might be related to or DUP of Bug 32170 - FILEOPEN Opened DOCX-file is empty Bug 36862 - Docx file displays nothing Bug 33072 - .docx import - graphics missing (JPEG), wordart messed up Bug 36791 - Text and images are not displayed from a docx document I do a cleanup and assign all "DOCX missing contents" bugs to Cédirc @Cédirc Please feel free to reassign if it's not your area!
Is this issue still reproducible for you with the latest release of LO? For me it is not reproducible with LO 4.0.2.2 (Win7 Home, 64bit). The document in LO looks for me like in the linked png file. Or is this maybe a misunderstanding from my side?
Created attachment 78867 [details] MS Word 2010 screenshot - with "Show or hide formatting marks" (In reply to comment #2) > Is this issue still reproducible for you with the latest release of LO? See attached MS Word 2010 screenshot. On the top with hiding formating marks (and hidden text) - and below with showing formatting marks (and hidden text). In LO 4.0, showing and hiding the hidden text works - but the four edit controls (or rather their WMF replacements) on the top right are always displayed. Expected: [11012][no value][24][3] are only shown when Extra|Options|LibreOffice Writer|Formating Help|Show| Hidden Text is enabled - but not otherwise. Actual result: [11012][no value][24][3] are always shown.
As 4.0.x branch of LibreOffice is in End Of Life state please recheck it in latest stable version 4.1.4.
