Description MC 2025-12-03 14:33:08 UTC
Description:
When printing a Calc document, LibreOffice sets the page size to a wrong custom format (406×508 mm) as soon as the printer "PDF24" is selected. The Calc page style is correctly set to A4 (21×29.7 cm). The PDF24 Windows printer driver is also configured for A4. Despite this, LibreOffice overrides the page size and prints in the wrong format. This does not happen in Apache OpenOffice, only in LibreOffice.

This results in incorrect PDF output when using PDF24 (e.g. invoices/letters) because parts of the document are cut off.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any Calc document with page style set to A4.
2. Go to File → Print.
3. Select printer "PDF24".
4. LibreOffice automatically changes the page size to 406×508 mm (custom format).

Actual Results:
Page size is changed to 406×508 mm when selecting PDF24 printer.

Expected Results:
LibreOffice should keep the page size defined in the Calc page style (A4) and not override it.

Reproducible: Always

Please attach a Calc samples file, reduce the size as much as possible without private information,
and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.

Also, please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode

It does not matter which template I use. The issue also occurs with a new/empty Calc document.
I have also tested with the following version:

Version: 25.8.3.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 8ca8d55c161d602844f5428fa4b58097424e324e
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (build 19045); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL threaded

I uninstalled the PDF24 printer (https://www.pdf24.org/en/) and installed the latest version again.
The problem still exists.

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1. In a Calc document, click File → Print.
2. In the print dialog, select PDF24 from the printer dropdown list.
3. LibreOffice automatically changes the Page Layout → Paper Size to 406 mm × 508 mm.

Workarounds after selecting the printer:

a) After switching from the default printer to PDF24, manually change the paper size back to A4.
b) Alternatively, click Properties on the default printer and then click OK or Cancel.
After that, selecting PDF24 from the dropdown results in the correct paper size (A4) being applied automatically.

This shows that LibreOffice switches to an incorrect paper size as soon as the PDF24 printer is selected,
even when the document page style is set to A4 and the PDF24 printer is configured for A4.
