Description Eyal Rozenberg 2024-08-03 19:02:24 UTC
Languages in LibreOffice has traditionally been divided into the three groups: Western, Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean essentially), and the RTL-CTL group of languages which are either written Right-to-Left or have Complex Text Layout, or both.

This meta bug is intended to track issues related to this trichotomy: The interplay between the different groups, misapplication/misidentification of groups, settings which could have been common to all groups but are group specific or vice-versa, and so on.

Perhaps we should switch to using the term "script" rather than "language" (and "script group" or "script type" rather than "language group"), in the title and alias for this bug? Jonathan, what do you think?
