It is possible to search (and replace) paragraph styles, but you cannot search for character styles. Please add that feature!
Hi Ulrich, I love the idea. (Even thought I already submitted it ;) ) > New Thanks, Cor
I agree that it is a good idea. Search and Replace should let the user choose which kind of style to search for, not only paragraph styles. Best regards, Gilvan.
In addition, I would appreciate if you could attribute a certain character style to a search string. If I remember it well, this was possible in MS Word, too.

Frank comment #3, that would need to be a separate bug - searching first to see if already created somewhere.

Since searching for paragraph styles is already implemented, adding character style search shouldn't be very difficult.

I was about to suggest the same thing
I have also been missing the option to search for Character Styles in the “Find and Replace” function for a long time. This suggestion for improvement here is now a good 10 years old …
I came across this threat only now. If you are still thinking about it, there exists the AltSearch extensions which does this: https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/70066
Fixed by what? The abandoned AltSearch extension only indirectly addressed.
