Add the option of exporting the currently selected set of slides. This capability is currently implied by the user interface and by the documentation. The current functionality (in Impress) is not useful (exports selected objects from a single slide).

I don't see any important advantage to listing Slides for Print / Export in 'Range > Pages'. I disagree with reporter's rating for current dialog. Removed "See Also" Request from Bug 33944 - [PRESENTATION] [PDFEXPORT] [PRINTING] [UI]: Option to export or print slides selected by custom slide show seems to be a good idea.
1) Happy to understand the disagreement of rating for current dialogue, but would like to know the reasons. From my perspective, I cannot see that the facility would ever be useful in Impress. Impress is about working with multiple slides. Exporting/printing a few objects from one slide only, especially when Master Slide objects cannot be selected, does not seem to me to be useful. In Writer and possibly other applications, the current dialogue of course makes a lot of sense. 2) If you are working with a selection of slides from a large presentation, the 'pages' dialogue will of course do a similar thing to the functionality suggested here. However, it's much easier to select a set of slides you want to export rather than specify the numbers in a dialogue box, especially in a large presentation when the ones you want are not sequential, and when slide numbers may be changing because of sorting or additions/deletions. For this reason, I disagree with the 'lowest' setting of importance. 3) The custom slide show option of bug 33944 is an alternative way of providing similar functionality, but I see no reason for not having both. My guess is that neither is a lot of work and they might well be done together to reduce effort. Having multiple ways of achieving a task in intuitive ways is arguably more often a benefit than a disadvantage.
[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html
This enhancement is still needed and would be much appreciated. Checked in 3.5.0b3 therefore status changed back to NEW.
I need work and print with group of slides: example if I need give a group to students. I have all slides (for students and teacher, yet another group of students). Solution: put a new button in menu Slide show - Custom Slide Shows... for to make visible slides of selected group and not visible the slides of unselected groups. That is easy to doing (if you know compile the libreoffice). Thanks.
I have found the best and easiest way to add this functionality, as I explain in the last comment of bug #33944
Hi all, Please test a daily build soon. This looks as if it implements the requested possibility: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=f90f8329fe5e95f25ba449e307fd40d56d68d3bb Ciao, Cor
Previous commit is "propagate selected slides to print dialog" and it works. It works by writing selected slides to "Slides" which seem logical, but it doesn't seem consistent with Bug 90436. Maybe there was no other way. But in 5.4+ PDF export still doesn't have this "propagate selected slides to PDF export dialog" so this bug is still valid. Selection doesn't work for selected slides. It works as written in Description "exports selected objects" and not even selected text (I have error, it's a diff. bug).
Not resolved in LO 6.5+.
