Created attachment 75701 [details] An image showing the bug If a cell has a Data Validity List, then when the cell is selected, the drop-down icon next to the cell is still drawn when switching to another sheet. If the drop-down list is opened, and another application is brought to the front, the list is drawn over it. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new spreadsheet. 2. Select cell A1. 3. Data->Validity menu, on Criteria tab, select List from the Allow drop-down list, add some entries. 4. Create a new sheet. 5. The little drop-down icon next to the cell on the first sheet is drawn over the new sheet, when it shouldn't be. 6. Go back to the first sheet and open the list. Bring another application to the foreground. The dropdown list is drawn over it when it shouldn't be. Build Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ built on 2013-02-28 Under Linux Mint 14 MATE 64 bits
Thank you for reporting this issue! I have been able to confirm the issue on: Version 3.6.4.3 Platform: Bodhi Linux 2.2 x64 + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + As I've been able to confirm this problem on an earlier release I am changing the version number as version is the earliest version that we can confirm the bug, we use comments to say that the bug exists in newer versions as well. Marking as: New (confirmed) Trivial - if you click off the cell the arrow disappears for good, just kind of awkward to have it there at the beginning. Low - Because it's only a short period that it exists there at all, it's not a high priority but possibly a very easy hack to fix it. I have tested steps from this first post and also tested very similar (but not the same) step-by-steps from bug 63178 reported by me and marked as duplicate by QA member. In both cases the problem still persists and is exactly the same as reported in previous versions. I did the tests on Windows 7 using LibreOffice version: ============================================================= Version: 5.2.4.2 Build ID: 3d5603e1122f0f102b62521720ab13a38a4e0eb0 CPU Threads: 3; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default; Locale: sl-SI (sl_SI); Calc: group ============================================================= P.S. In comment 8 it is stated the tests should be performed using 5.2.3 version, but it looks to me this is some old message not updated to the latest official release. Is it?
Now I have also tested this bug and bug 63178 on LibreOffice master nightly and this problem still persists. From LibreOffice Calc menu Help | About: =============================================================== Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 0ab8a27244e74e1c0916b3737f15c6c949aead78 CPU Threads: 3; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default; TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:master, Time: 2017-01-04_00:43:26 Locale: sl-SI (sl_SI); Calc: group ===============================================================
still present in LO 6.0 beta 2 on Windows 7

The bug was already present in V3.5.2.2 (portable). I will change the version info to this. The bug is NOT legacy! It does not show in V3.3 nor does it in AOO up to date. I personally never experienced the issue described in the original report for reproducing in step 6. I woiuld like to know if it actually showed for other users with ANY other software or with specific ones. In addition to the already described issues there is a related neagtive variant: Having gotten rid of the icon in a sheet where it shouldnÄt show by selecting a cell, you will NOT be presented the icon if you select the sheet it belongs to EVEN if the cell possessing the validity setting is still under focus. The additional issue also is present already in V3.5.2.2. Everything is unchanged up to V 6.3.0.0.beta1. The importance is set medium/trivial. May this mean the bug will never be addressed?
