Description Andreas Hyballa 2012-12-15 22:40:40 UTC
It would be nice if the border button could remember the last choosen border-style (like the split color button).

Operating System: Windows 7

Hi,

Thanks for reporting!

I don't think this feature will be there soon, because our developers are currently under high pressure to make sure everything works for the new LibreOffice 4.0 release in February.

But, your request is notated. Thanks!
Comment 2 john.pratt 2012-12-21 17:02:30 UTC
I agree that this would be a very useful enhancement.
Comment 3 tommy27 2013-01-06 00:00:19 UTC
CONFIRMED Border Buttons do not remember last used style. however this is not a 4.0 beta issue... it's always been like that since first LibO release and previous OOo version.

so changing VERSION from 4.0 beta to 3.3

Can importance be increased to medium/normal? To have at least same chance as other bugs. This is UI/usability bug. It will not hurt anyone if it's not fixed/implemented, but would increase usability and standardise toolbar buttons.
All color picker icons in Calc now remember last used color and need just one click to apply it. With borders you need two clicks and pointing. :)

Is this ok for easy hack list or something like that?
I reported duplicate of this, bug 86354, and since there are at least 5 bugs for this same problem, I guess a lot of people are noticing it.

AFAIK it won't change anything, as every developer is working on whatever he is interested/able to work, regardless of its "importance".
Comment 11 Mikeyy - L10n HR 2014-11-17 16:20:47 UTC
Great, then you can increase it without problems. :)
What about easy hacks? Can you add it there or there is some suggestion/approval procedure?

I can testify that many users still ask for that during my (so many) training sessions on migrations. (Last time today :)

This is one of weak point compared to Excel.
Border styling is not efficient because of this.
Would be nice if this could be improved sooner.
Waiting for long time.

Table styles are powerful instruments.

Setting priority to "high" because there are currently 12 duplicates.

Still not available in toolbar or sidebar in Writer or Calc in a recent master build:

Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 92deea6301a02f5530f17263f58402344f82013c
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The Calc sidebar makes it *look* like it does remember the setting as (with GTK3 at least) the button is physically split and the icon shows what borders the selected cells have.

HI,
I just walked my e-Mails .. finding one of my LO filings ...

I remember, that i filed :: WITH SUXXESS !
( it was incorporated in the functionality of LO )

SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH !
___________________________

The " brush tool " got a double click feature !!!!!!! I requested ...

to transfer formatting to MORE THAN ONE entity of a document
until deactivated by another double click

_____________________________________________________________________

Button, Knobs, Checkboxes et cetera / all User Interface elements
for actions , attributes, styles and so on

AT ALL
======
======

( like brush tool )

could have the attribute ( WORK ONCE // NOW )
OR
work " as desired until changed " AS DEFAULT.
=============================================

I have lost ALL expertise, i had once as a programmer::
( may be only 1 000 lines for my life )

EACH CODE
could have the decision:

//as objects//

IF
    IT IS DEFAULT
else

set
    AS default ( on checking / double click / on main configuration

overwrite THIS
    temporarily

reset
    TO normal

SOME MORE .....
